March tournament ringside (tamari-seki)
Ringside seats do not allow eating. You're right at the ring edge and there's no space for food.
What is chanko nabe?
Chanko is a protein-heavy hot pot that sumo wrestlers eat year-round to build and maintain mass. It's communal, hearty and tied to sumo tradition. Trying it at a show is part of the cultural experience.
What about alcohol?
Beer is available at tournaments (floor boxes). At shows, it depends on the venue. The $111 wagyu tour offers optional paired drinks. Ask when you book.
